What Next?
Yesterday we
celebrated Easter. Perhaps at a meal or cook-out with family and friends. Maybe we had an Easter Egg Hunt. Some were probably at Mass for the first time
since Christmas. Many simply ignored it just
as they ignore our Lord every other day of their life.
Whatever you
did yesterday, the question becomes what you will do going forward. As Christians we are the Easter people. If we only celebrate the meaning of Easter
one day a year we are failing in our faith.
If we lose focus on God and our relationship with Him because Lent has
come to an end our faith will lessen and deteriorate over the next year. Christianity is not a once or twice a year
calling. It is a way of life that must
express itself in everything we do throughout our life. We must live the gift He gave us on that
first Easter. We must let others see it
within us.
Our faith
and our hope rests in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Only through Him do we have access to the
Father and the opportunity of eternal bliss in heaven. Unless we live that faith and hope every day
of our life we are failing in our calling as Christians.
Jesus died
once for all. He gave His body and blood
for our salvation. He took up the cross
and paid the price for our sins and He rose from the dead once for all. He sits at the right hand of the Father
interceding for all. He will come again
in glory to claim His own.
Let’s keep
the Easter promise alive in our lives. If
we do we can rest in the joy and confidence of His eternal love and mercy.
