For the Children

Lord we pray for our children.

We did not pray with them as we should when they were young.

We let them wander from Your path,

As we also wandered.

We didn’t teach them Your ways O Lord.

We let them go their own way.

Instead of bringing them up in Your love,

We tried to raise them in ours alone.

Our love is not enough.

Our children have paid the price and we are guilty.

Guilty of letting them live their lives without You.

Guilty of not teaching them of Your love for them.

If only we could go back and change these things.

If only we could make up for our mistakes.

Our children need to find their way home

And we have left them in the wilderness.

There is no pain worse than that of failing the children.

Of such is the kingdom of God.

Our soul is burdened by our failure.

We pray for Your forgiveness.

Teach them Lord, reach out to them.

Correct the errors we committed.

Show them Your love, that they may love You.

Lead them in Your chosen path.

Lord, we pray for the children.

We place them in Your hands.

May they know the love of God that we should have shown them.

May they walk with You in peace.

Lord, we pray for the children.

We let them down, we did not teach them of you.

Do not let them suffer for our sins.

Bring them into Your home we pray.
