Two Roads
“Do not be deceived, there are only two roads, one that leads to life and is narrow; the other that leads to death and is wide. There is no middle way.” (St. Louis De Montfort)
As we
continue our journey through Lent, preparing to celebrate the joys and
blessings of Easter I think it’s important that we always keep in mind that the
road that Jesus put before us is the only road that leads to heaven.
Great
theologians and philosophers have written volumes about the Christian way of
life. They are of great value in so many
ways in our efforts to come closer to God; to know Him better. That desire is very important to our
relationship with God. We need to know
God as well as possible so that we can know how to love Him more and better.
But there is
a simplicity that we must also keep in mind.
All the words and guidance in the world will never change the fact that
there are only two roads to follow: one leading to life and the other to
death. There is no halfway path, no
middle road. We will either spend
eternity in the presence of God or in the total absence of God and all that is
good.
