Only God is God

   It seems we believe we have the right and the ability to usurp the rights and power of God.  We have become so vain that we believe we can do a better job than He can.  Look around, it’s easy to see the pride and vanity of humanity; the desire to become gods in our own right.

   Only God can create life.  Try as we may it isn’t possible for humans to do so.  Yet, throughout history there have been those who have tried and still today there are those who believe it’s achievable.  Our money and time could be a far greater blessing if used to help those who are already alive and need our help and caring.

   Though we can’t create life we have certainly devised numerous ways of ending it.  How many have we killed through abortion?  Over 3000 innocent babies are killed in the womb each day in the United States alone.  Euthanasia has become and is becoming more accepted.  We believe we have the right to end another’s life because the “quality” of that life doesn’t meet our expectations.

   God created the universe and all within it, yet we treat our little corner of His universe as our private property to use and abuse as we see fit.  We were intended to be good stewards of God’s creation, not to pollute and destroy it for our own greedy purposes.

   Only God is God; we are not and never will be.  It’s time we honored God and quit trying to be Him.

Father, You have been so generous in Your creations.

Help us to be good stewards of those blessings.

Give us the humility to remember,

You are God and we are not.
