In His Hands
“How precious to me are your designs, O God; how vast the sum of them!” (Psalm 139: 17)
There’s an old gospel song titled, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.” It’s a favorite for children and sing-alongs because
the refrains are simple and easy to sing.
It also tells of God’s love for all He has created.
From the
simplest blade of grass to the incredibly complex brain of a human being, God
is the creator, He brought them into being.
Nothing that ever was, is now, or every will be is beyond Him and His
creative power. He truly does have the whole
world in His hands.
I’m often fascinated
with what appears to be simple things of God’s creation.
I see a snail inching its’ way along and marvel at the complexity of
such a small creature and the life it lives purely on instinct. It doesn’t build a home; it carries it’s home
on it’s back. Its’ food is found as it
slowly goes on its' way with never a worry of where it should go or what it will eat. It is one of God’s creations and He cares for
it.
When explaining
how much God loves us and watches over us Jesus said, “Notice how the
flowers grow. They do not toil or spin. But I tell you, not even Solomon in all his
splendor was dressed like one of them.
If God so clothes the grass in the field that grows today and is thrown
into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little
faith.” (Luke 12: 27 – 28). When I
look at what I have in life I must recognize that it is all because of God’s
love; I am His creation, and He cares for me.
There is nothing in life that is beyond the caring of God. He sees everything, He knows everything, everything exists because He wills it to do so. In its’ majesty and in its’ simplicity, it is all part of God’s plan. Without question, without doubt, the whole world is in His hands.
The world belongs to You.
You created it out of love.
By Your love I exist and am blessed.
Thank You Lord!
Amen
