Tolerating Evil
“America, it is said, is suffering from intolerance – it is not. It is suffering from tolerance.” (Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen)
Have you
ever noticed that those who constantly decry intolerance are the same ones who
have no tolerance for any opinion but their own? Those screaming for free speech refuse to
allow freedom for any speech that disagrees with theirs. If anyone disagrees they are
considered bigoted and hateful, a threat to their "right" to redefine good and evil to meet their own vile desires.
Evil accepts
no argument; it is forceful, hateful, and unyielding. It attacks anyone who dares to question the
abominations it practices. Christianity is
and always has been the target of evil’s greatest hatred. The Church and people of faith are attacked
from all sides. Anyone who objects to
the ways of Satan are considered ignorant and must be silenced. Even our courts and government refuse to
defend religious freedom from attack.
If evil is
to be defeated people of faith are going to have to take a stand. We are going to have to stand up for our religious
rights and push back against those who would deny them. If not, our society is
doomed to go down the path of ruin just as many evil societies have done in the
past.
Benjamin
Franklin said, “Evil prevails when good men fail to act.” Tolerance in the face of evil
equates to supporting it. Until we confront and rebuke the voices and actions of evil it will continue to grow in
strength.
